WaterTreatmentAI uses artificial intelligence to power its chat agent. Our AI is provided by OpenAI.
How it works: when a visitor interacts with the chat widget, conversation messages — including any ZIP code they provide — are sent to OpenAI's API to generate real-time responses based on the dealer's website content and public EPA/EWG water-quality data.
Your data is protected:
OpenAI does not use API data to train or improve their models.
API data may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for safety monitoring, after which it is deleted.
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
We do not use AI to make automated decisions that produce legal effects on individuals.
Account information: when a dealer creates an account, we collect their name, email address, business name, and billing information.
Website data: when a dealer connects their website, our system reads publicly available content — service descriptions, product listings, hours, and FAQs — to train their chat agent.
Visitor data: when a visitor interacts with the chat widget, we collect the ZIP code and other information they provide, conversation content, IP address, and browser information used to look up local contaminant data and generate lead notifications for the dealer.
Usage data: we collect information about how dealers use our dashboard to improve our product.
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the chat agent, train it on a dealer's business information, deliver lead notifications, process payments, send transactional emails, analyze usage patterns, and respond to support requests.
All data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit and encryption for data at rest, with access controls limiting employee access to customer data. We retain account data for as long as the account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
We use OpenAI for AI processing, EPA and EWG public data sources for contaminant lookups, a payment processor for billing, and standard analytics and error-monitoring tooling. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and analytics cookies to understand how our dashboard is used.
You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and data, request a data export, and opt out of non-essential analytics tracking.

Google OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and deleted when you disconnect.
Our service is intended for business use by dealer staff and adult website visitors. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
